Hi everyone

I need advise for picking the next spot to fish (8 May) , I'm from Paarl and looking for a place not to far.

Maybe Strand , Yzerfontein , Koggelbaai ?

We are new in the sport and need advise please.

what are you after? if its things with teeth, then speak to Uncle Shark Boy (Martin) - he's the one with the beady look in his eye and 5 skipjack in his back-pocket. If you want things you can kill AND eat (as the Danish girlfriend of a mate recently said in my boat when she caught her 1st ever fish - a 3kg Steenbras) then post a reply.

Morning , thanks for the reply

I'm looking for something to kill and eat , Surfking if you can help me with that.

I life in Paarl and need to know if Langebaan/Yzerfontein is beter than Strand/Koggel Bay.

My favorite stop is Struisbaai and Suiderstrand but it is to far for a day alone.

Thanks again Martin and Surfking

I wish i could help - but my knowledge is limited to the Hermanus area and to some extent Breede. I wish i knew more about Langebaan, because it is an area i am keen to start fishing from the boat.

Conrad I am no expert, but both areas are good, however they are bound by many factors, weather, tides, ect. I suggest u watch the site and keep tabs on what, how, when ect. My opinion, the Strand/Gordons Bay area is a very good bet. Winter and summer fish. Also check the local newspaper on Thursdays, Helderberg News, Art Ridgeway writes brilliant articles of the local area, this will give u a very good idea. Or phone Arthur on 021 845 3831, he will be too glad to pass on advice, I have learnt a lot from him.
