Conrad, We normally fish Macasar or closer to strandfontein.
Yes, fishing not always the best, but one thing you won't find is the the orange river barbels down here..hehehe

We go out regulary, but mainly target non-eds. Sort of specialise in big shark hunting!

You are welcome to join us when you want to get a line in the water.

We also visit Struisbaai quite often - excellent fishing destination.

Thanks for the reply ,

What is the best time and place to fish at Macassar and it did not look so safe when i went there two weeks back on a sunday.

When you are next time in Struisbaai , go past Agulhas to Suiderstrand. Fish from the rocks on the beach righ hand side.

Some nice kabljou on lowtide.

Conrad that depends what you will be fishing for:

Cob like normal the best times is early Mornings or Evenings - even well into the night. Will work for the rest of the species like Steenbras / Gallies / Belman / Shad as well...

For the Non eds: I believe that Macassar works best in the afternoon - the tide is really that important.

We normally do not fish alone. And definately not alone in the dark.

I have fished most part of the coast extensively up to Natures Valley and have caught most of my cob Valsbay.

Like I said if you want to give me a shout: I am always looking for someone to fish with...

KingSlide , Thanks about Maccasar , do you stand close to the resort or do you walk up the beach.

I'm not fishing next month , but will be back in June.

But meanwhile looking for info about some places to fish.

Conrad it all depends what wind is blowing. What fish I am targetting. I like to fish the fence at Macassar. But anywhere it looks good I will fish. One cannot just decide to go to a certain spot with out driving the rest of the area. Then you will definately loose out on fish.
