Overberg Angling

Was out last night, went to look for Redaah @ Blue waters but couldn't find him. Decided that we rather go to Sonwabe. The place was kinda full and so was the Palletjies. Water looked better @ Sonwabe with 2 sets of breakers. Put on a bloodowrm with a skirt and circle 6/0 , got a small barbel. Then changed to 7/0 with anchovie got a small smoothhound. Then used anchovie and Chokka missed something. Then change the trace to a 5/0 long shank with a float on the line and not on the hook. Layed long so 15min got a lekker take this was after the barbel stopped biting, Fish was on for a while then lost it. Threw again waited long and get a smaller smoothhound on a thin strip of clean chokka. Throw the same bait, waited 30 min get a take and I take my time and strike. Fish is on and as I reel I feel nothing and a little mnore and feel he is still there , I think maybe a barbel but I feel head shakes, Water was low 1 hour before low landed this 2kg measures 59cm. Riyad caught a barbel and a moerse crab. Thought ok now the fish is going to bite, but nothing packed up @ 1am.

Friend of ours fished Gunnery and saw a guy land a 12kg. Only fish that came out. Redaah fished Blue waters and got about 5 kob, his friend a 10kg and the other friend landed a 40kg Ray.


Redaah , you can enlighten us on what else you got as he was still fishing when I left.
