Overberg Angling

On Sunday we had a lovely day at Strandfontein, Herman, Theunis, Reza, Quentin, Cindy Quentin's wife, her father from Pretoria and myself. We had 9 pick-ups of which 7 were landed. Besides the water looking like the dam in Pretoria we had fun.
Reza landed a small smoothhound. Quentin a diamond ray of 114cm disk length, Theunis a smoothound, a smooth hammerhead and a beauty of a diamond ray of 160cm disk length and I landed two smooth hammerhead's of 81cm and 74 cm. All the fish were safely released. Herman tagged the large diamond and one of the hammerheads.
Herman was pick-up after four hours and was unfortunate to loose a very large bronzie after a 35 minute fight.

First of my smooth hammerheads, this one was tagged by Herman.

Herman was picked-up after four hours and was very unfortunate to loose a very big bronzie after a 35 minute fight. This would have been his PB. Herman fought the fish well but his line was burnt-off on another line. It was a great fight Herman, next time.

Although we did not get the big Bronzies, we did get some other species like the Diamonds and the Hammerheads.
Nice to get variety of fish species and what was a flat ocean in the morning, with little prospects of fish, turned out to be a fair day at the water.

Great stuff guys and well done on the diamonds and the hammers. Nice to see other species coming out there too.

I tried very hard to convince the government, but she said there is no ways we are driving there with my back still busy healing - she thinks I am crazy.
