Gordons bay 1 Year, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello All.

I am pretty new to the rock and surf scene but have been fishing fresh water for some time. I would like to know if anybody has some good spots along the rocks and maybe the harbour wall in gordons bay. I would like to know what fish are available in this area and the best times to fish. Also what sort of jig and what bait should be used. Hook sizes etc.

I would appreciate any help in this matter.

Many Thanks.

Gordons Bay harbour wall is a waste of time.In the evenings from Bikini Beach with prawn bait steenbras can be caught. In the Strand the wooden jetty divides it into two parts:to the right of the pier is Melkbaai ,to the left is Blake's Bay.Melkbaai is the place for large kabeljou, which tend to be smaller at Blake's Bay.Makouvlei is another good spot for kabeljou,it is down by the golf course.Tight Lines

Thanks very much for the info. Much appreciated. Do you have any other tips for good areas in the false bay vicinity? I dont have access to a boat so just really looking for something along the beach or rocks.

Thanks again.

Macassar to Swartklip and beyond are very popular angling areas. They also produce kob steenbras and good sharks in summer. You can also catch baardman .In winter this area can produce good catches of galjoen.Further down you have Strandfontein and Muizenberg.
