I have visited that area a lot since Jan this year and many of the locals have made mention of loosing fish to the Zambies. They nail especially cob once they are close to landed from a boat.

Reports indicate around 5 big Zambies operating in the river.

Just to think - we don't need to drive too far anymore to target one of them.....

According to rumour you cannot target them in the River itself - this was proclaimed after the first one was landed by Hennie Papenfuss.

Can someone please remind me again why I waded more than waist deep on one occasion to "try" and get from one end to the other???? Typical idiot move and now even more stupid coming to realise that these critters are roaming around. Ouch, imagine that thing nibbling on your thighs!!!!!!!!!

If one thinks about it all these years anglers have been losing fish to a tax man...

And if one go and sit and think about it there is only one tax man that can stand fresh water...for long periods of time...even though one gets raggies in the Knysna Lagoon as well. Not that far up the Lagoon but still it is in the Lagoon...

Stef you will find them in a lot of rivers going to the eastern cape - and remember what I am telling you today...

One of these days someone is going to land one in the Knysna Lagoon as well

Hi. I know this is a late reply to this post, but here`s some more info. The request was made not to target any of the Bull sharks, but the proclamation never went through. It was needed to be publicised in the goverment cazette and as far as i know this was never done. But most of us adhere to their request not to target them.

I have also heard that from tracking these bull sharks, they have noticed that the sharks are actually very clever. What they do is swim from boat to boat and will settle under a boat for a while to see if there isn`t a easy meal comming through. A cob on a lne is a easier catch that a cob swimming freely.(lazy bastards!) During night time they venture out to sea past the swimming area to where rocks are. Here alot of rock and surf anglers fish...so again they wait to see if they can get an easy meal.

This is what i`ve heard from the local helping to track these sharks. Also, it`s been a while since i`ve heard of any fish thats been taken b the sharks....maybe the`ve moved up river a bit?

Cheers

Stefanus jy sal meer as 'n Omoto moet saam vat...blykbaar wil Raptor hulle byt. Dus dink ek die kanse is beter dat jy een aan Raptor see been kan land as wat jy het op die Omoto...
