Overberg Angling

Hi Guys,
Heading to Struis this weekend. I was just wondering if there are any Cracker around? If so, where?

they are there, just not a lot of them

best bet is the rocks from "skulpies baai" towards "die brood"

They do come out. Look for a nice gully and preferably the water must have loads of white foam on top. Water must work nicely. Typically water best suited for Galjoen. They also like warmer water.

Redbait is about your best bet, and can be picked up at "die las"

I have only once had a small cracker pick up in Struis. My prefered cracker area is in Mosselbay during spawning season (Late Sept. - Nov) Then you can get the 20kg monsters

Struis delivers smaller crackers up to the 12kg mark

Remember the minimum length of 600mm, that's about the 4.5 - 5kg mark.

Thanks very much! I have caught two (6 & 7kgs) at Die Eiland before but never at Struis. Will have a try but think I will try more for Gallies.
