Overberg Angling is happy to announce 2 great fishing competitions on the site for all our angling members. Both these fishing competitions were made possible by the sponsorship of two of our members, and we want to thank them both for their love of the sport and great pastime.
Daiwa Saltist Competition
Blenco (PTY) Ltd from Brackenfell has graciously sponsored a brand new Daiwa Saltist reel to the value of R2400 for this competition.
This mini fishing competition will run from 5 January 2010 till 30 May 2010. The prize will be handed out to an angler who, according to our panel of judges, has made the best catch in that period. The competition is open to all facets of saltwater angling - Rock and Surf, Off-Shore, Drop Shot or Vertical Jigging.
To qualify for this prize you have to post a picture of your catch in the Forum under Catch Album with a story.
The judges will be Stefano, Cynthia and Dudley (sponsor). The judges can not be part of the competition...
Tuna Fishing Trip sponsored by Three J's Fishing Charters
Come and do battle with a mighty 80 - 100 kg yellowfin tuna!
Three J's Fishing Charters has sponsored a trip for 1 aboard their fully rigged 25' catamaran to go tuna fishing (Yellowfin and Longfin) as well as Dorado fishing at the "Canyon", approximately 30 nautical miles off Cape Point departing out of Gordons Bay Harbor during the tuna season (April - August).
This prize, to the value of R1 800 is subject to weather and will be available during a weekday. We have decided to award this prize to an angler that has caught an exceptional fish during the next few months. All members of Overberg Angling will qualify for this prize. Due to the tuna fishing season this prize will be awarded not later than 15 April 2010.
To qualify for this prize you have to post a picture of your catch in the Forum under Catch Album with a story.
The boat "Three J's" is a 25' catamaran hulled boat, fitted with two 150 HP outboard motors and is SAMSA seaworthy certified to carry two (crew) plus four passengers, up to 40 nautical miles offshore.
The judges will be Stefano, Cynthia and Threejs (sponsor). The judges can not be part of the competition...
