The past few weeks the weather, or rather lack of good weather, was the main reason why so few fish were caught. It has been a horrible few weeks for everyone in the Overberg and Cape Town, but it seems that even the Eastern Cape, Gauteng and Natal got hit by winds and rain and thunder storms. At least the predictions for this coming weekend is looking good and we are all holding thumbs that the wind will die down, the sea will go flat and we will be able to get on or next to the water.
The great news is that our community has been growing at a very healthy rate. We started the year on 614 anglers and to date we are on 1083, and if the trend continues we might just double up this year again. A hearty big welcome to all the new anglers that have joined us over the past few months, and we all hope that you will become not only better anglers, but also become a big part of our great community.
Chat Box
One of the great features of the site is the chat box. Some days more information is passed onto other anglers via this nifty little tool than from the articles. It is also a great place to get to know the other members and to become a part of a great community.
Please do not be shy - use the chat box. Say morning to us or just tell us how things are in your neck of the woods (or sea). We love to hear what is going on. I do understand that the "boss" might frown on his workers chatting the day away, but if you have time to browse articles or the forum you can also spend a few seconds saying "Hi"

25 Species News
The only fish that made it onto the scoreboard the past week was a small blactail by Martin caught at Witsand, but I am sure that with the improving weather a lot more anglers will get to the waters.
If you have not joined the competition yet now is the time with the summer fishing starting. Don't worry about guys like Jackal and Captain Sea who is at the top of the leader board at the moment - just 2 or 3 days of good fish and you can be right up there with them and share in any of the great prizes on offer.
