Great fishing in Costa Rica for the Jigstar Africa Team

E-mail Print PDF

Hi Jiggers & Poppers, we trust that you are well and that 2010 is treating you and your families kindly! Linda and I returned this weekend from Playa Zancudo on the Golfo Dulce in Costa Rica. One of the most beautiful places on earth. We have fallen in love with the place and the wonderful people we were privileged to meet in Costa Rica – and we will definitely return to Zancudo in the future. This rates of one of the best trips of our lives.........

El Nino has raised Pacific water temperatures to 30Deg C+, so fishing was initially slow but the fish we caught more than made up for it in their quality. We used our Jigstar 250 and 350 rods, JM Powerspell 300 and Three Kings Special rods, together with Alutecnos Gorilla 12C and JM PE4 reels and were consistently amazed at the performance and ease of use of our equipment. The “we” includes IGFA Captains from Sportfishing Unlimited – (Capt. John Olsen and Capt. Mark Bauer - holders of numerous current and past World Records) and Capt. Pete Feeley and Karen Wyld of Capt. Pelon Charters.

Well, I hope these pics say all the words that elude me at the moment........ pictures do that sometimes.......Pete, Karen, John, Mark, Antonio (yes I will practice my Spanish) John Charles at Colosso (best food in town) and to all the others at Sol y Mar, Los Cocos etc. we haven’t named here, we are already missing you guys. Thanks for being the most professional and great people we have had the privelege to meet and these friendships will be valued. We’ll be back!

Cheers for now!
Andre, Linda and Roy
